We’re excited to tell you about our first ever sale here at Miscandlon & Lewthwaite Writing Services. For the next few weeks we’re offering reduced rates on proofreading and copy editing, discounting our standard rates by 25 per cent.
Also, for any writer whose manuscript is not yet ready, we’ll honour the sale price for six months on receipt of a £50 deposit. So if you aim to get your book completed by the end of the year, you can book us now, send the manuscript when it’s ready, and still save 25 per cent on the usual cost of proofreading or copy editing.
Here’s what we do
Proofreading: We’ll detect and correct any obvious errors that are in the manuscript. This includes spelling errors, punctuation errors, incorrect word use, and grammatical errors.
Copy editing (also known as line editing): In addition to proofreading, we’ll check for consistency throughout and also suggest alternative ways of expressing thoughts and ideas.
What we work on
We are happy to work on fiction and non-fiction manuscripts, and collections of short stories or articles.
We can also work on annual reports, newsletters, sales brochures, web content, or indeed anything else that has been written. Get in touch to discuss your unique needs.
We have experience of working on manuscripts written in American English as well as British English. We are also able to work in formats other than Microsoft Word, if needed — just ask.

How to take advantage of the offer
In the first instance, get in touch with us via the contact form here on the website, or by emailing [email protected]
On receipt of your manuscript plus 50 per cent of the fee (less any deposit you have paid) we will timetable the job into our work schedule. We aim to complete within two weeks, but at busy times it may take a little longer. If that should be the case, we’ll let you know what to expect and agree a deadline with you. The balance of the fee is payable when we return your edited manuscript.
And don’t forget, if your manuscript isn’t ready yet, a £50 deposit will ensure you don’t miss out on the special offer rate. Simply send us your manuscript when it’s ready (but before the end of the year) and we’ll proofread or edit it at that time.
How to make payment
Payment may be made via PayPal, or by direct bank transfer within the UK (this is our preferred method).
We have a minimum fee of £25 per job so if you are a writer of short stories, for example, send a collection to make sure you get the best value for your money.
Please note that deposits made to secure sale price bookings are non-refundable.
