Who are we? As a team, Steven Miscandlon and Julie Lewthwaite possess an impressive background in fiction writing and editing – experience that they can can bring to bear to help polish your novel or story for publication. Julie Lewthwaite writes fiction as Julie Morrigan, and to date has published three novels and four collections of short stories in both ebook and print formats, as well as having had stories published in a number of magazines. Her work has received international acclaim, particularly in the crime fiction community. The Crime Fiction Lover website recognised her bestselling novel Convictions as one of the top five books of 2011, and short story anthology Gone Bad as one of the top eight crime collections of the year. Gone Bad also appeared as one of the top three books in a Goodreads poll of 'Best Noir of the 21st Century', and was nominated for a 2012 Spinetingler Award. Julie has carried out extensive editing and proofreading for other authors, in genres ranging from crime and general fiction to fantasy, science fiction and young adult novels. Steven Miscandlon cut his writing teeth with various independent magazines in the early nineties, and by the age of 21 had been published in Scotland's leading literary journal, West Coast Magazine. In recent years his short stories have been presented online at venues such as Thrillers, Killers & Chillers and the Midnight Circle horror podcast. Anthology contributions have included stories for the British crime collection True Brit Grit and Off The Record 2: At The Movies. In addition to editing and proofreading each of Julie Morrigan's books published to date, he has edited dozens of other novels and short story collections, as well as non-fiction, for self-publishing authors and small presses. He has also edited on a freelance basis for HarperCollins in the UK and has worked in a proofreading and editing capacity with the Oxford Literary Consultancy. Notable non-fiction editing projects have included the landmark UNESCO publication Memory of the World, and high-profile music releases by artists such as Elton John, Take That and the Rolling Stones.
